Yes, this is true. I'm used to referring to myself as a freelancer because this is how I had to define myself to obtain my German visa, but realistically, this is my primary income, with repeat clients. It's just become unsustainable in the current economic/tech climate, as inflation has outpaced my ability to raise my rates, and new would-be clients don't seek editors so much anymore. Tough times.
