Yes, there are certainly dangerous situations that guys can get drawn into also, by other people who pose as “friends” or as prospective dates. A lot of the time, as I understand it, these are often money-making scams that involve demanding all the money the man has on him (or can withdraw) at any particular moment. A friend of mine nearly got lured into a situation like this once while on his travels: some other guys approached him and a friend and were raving about taking them to this really cool bar or club. Something though tipped my friend off to the fact that there was duplicity involved, and luckily he got out of it safe.

You’re right that there’s always that hint of doubt after the fact. This makes it tempting to ignore your instincts the next time: “Well, I did bail on the situation last time, but I’m fine, so… maybe I would’ve been fine anyway?” But always better to be on the safe side. Thanks for reading, Jake.
