Yes, I'm thankful that I also eventually got to experience what it was like to have a partner who was mature enough to be ready to grow together. It's beautiful. I like to think, though, that hoping for basic decency, healthy communication, and emotional intelligence is not asking too much... but maybe I'm too optimistic? ;)
