Very important points. Thank you for writing this. I used to blog (for free) about twin flames years ago. It was never my intention to run a blog that focused on the topic, but it seemed to be the thing that my readers wanted most, so I just allowed their inquiries in my inbox to drive my content. I admit though, I used to get so angry about seeing (elsewhere) content of the type you describe: pyramid schemes, formulaic "this is what you must do in order to DEFINITElY find/reunite with your twin flame!," etc. And I still get annoyed when I see people grabbing at the "twin flame" label when they want to validate extremely unhealthy relationships or wholly one-sided parasocial fixations (and thereby unintentionally smearing the concept).
As for tarot, I have mixed feelings about using that to explore relationship dynamics, but that's a whole other topic. In any case, I think it's always valuable to reflect deeply on our personal beliefs about divine love, healthy human love, the healing journey, etc. and what these things should look like.
One more thing: another "spiritual" concept I wish more people would question for the toxic capitalist/meritocratic/"just world fallacy" underpinnings? The whole idea of LOA/manifestation and how people who are struggling are only struggling because (ostensibly) they're not focused / clear-minded / healed / brave / self-respecting / self-confident / trusting / dedicated enough... or that their values are otherwise somehow skewed (i.e., that they're chasing the wrong things). In fact, while I do think there's a healthy way to conceptualize twin flames, I struggle to conceptualize a truly healthy way to put one's faith in LOA / manifestation. But again — that's another (albeit related) issue.
Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now. ;) Thanks again for the thoughtful read!
