I usually turn my gratitude outward around the holidays. I like to spend New Year’s Eve writing lists of blessings from the year-about-to-end. There are certainly plenty of external things outside of my control that I’m thankful for in any given year, yes.
This year, though, it’s worthwhile to commemorate the small ways in which I’ve grown over the previous 12 months. Which is perhaps equally important.
Because making a point of recognizing how WE’VE come through for OURSELVES is immensely empowering. It reminds us how much control we have over the way we experience the world. How we make ourselves open to life’s blessings. And how we do our part to share those blessings with others.
So without further ado, this year, I’m writing a list of things I’m grateful to myself for having done in 2018. I’ll share it here with you over the coming days, under the title Self-Celebrations. Stay tuned, thanks for reading, and I hope the posts can inspire a little self-celebration of your own.
Wishing you many New Year blessings. Happy 2019.
