This is exactly what prevents me from writing some of the stories I want to write about the downright *predatory* attention I've gotten over the years — including from gatekeepers — which has impacted my life circumstances and all kinds of life choices. Of course, I know ALL women get predatory attention, but some women's features are so intensely fetishized that they get heaps upon heaps of it beyond the norm. In a sense, the world is not just more judgmental towards women who "stand out," but actually also quite a bit less safe for them.
Thank you for sharing your sister's story with such love and compassion. It's a real problem, and it needs to be known. I hope she's feeling better and that her coworkers check their biases!
