The truth is, I have occasionally advised clients to use AI before coming to me, such as when I just didn't have the mental energy or they didn't have the budget for a human to do the entire job. Still, what AI can do in my industry falls far short of what needs to happen. So all I've seen is that AI might be able to help a client save a little bit of money — but the copyeditor's job is still much the same, given the nature of the ways in which AI inevitably falls short. It's a real challenge.
