Yes, part of the reason I also hesitated in pursuing a writing career was because my blue-collar town wasn’t a cultured place where anyone had any idea how a creative career could work; I had no mentors — only people telling me that I should pursue a “stable” job and “write in your free time.” I also have no clue (still) how to make a living as a writer, but I hope it figure it out soon because I can relate to what you say: “nothing has felt more right.” Wishing you the very best of success and fulfillment!
