Thank you very much for your supportive words, Marcus. I agree, experience is a fantastic teacher. But I believe there's hope for protecting her: I think that self-love and self-trust go a long way toward shielding a person from abuse.

As long as your daughter grows up to trust herself, her judgment, and her perceptions, it will be much harder for people to gaslight her. And as long as she has no doubt that she is a valuable, worthy person who is easy to love, she will recognize that she deserves the world. :) I wish your daughter much happiness and security in love!
