Thank you so much, Sofia, including the encouragement to keep at freelancing. Frankly, freelancing is the only career path that feels right to me at the moment. I don't know how I'll make it through, but I want to find a way.
"The best paid people are usually the best marketers not the best skilled." — this is so important to remember. I appreciate that you said it. It's been tough to market in this career since I began because so many clients are embarrassed about using an editor — so they hesitate to give testimonials, ask you not to include their projects on your CV, etc. I will have to figure out other ways to beef up my website.
And thank you for taking a look at my LinkedIn! My LinkedIn is pretty eclectic, admittedly, because my educational and work-experience background were very diverse. But to be honest, I also neglect LinkedIn because 1) my clients have rarely come from there anyway (they mostly grew through university writing centers and then word-of-mouth), and 2) copyediting has always been a job I wanted to eventually transition out of... in order to go deeper into writing. But if I need to boost my income, it would make sense to try to craft a more cohesive LinkedIn presence.
Again, I really appreciate your feedback! :)
