Thank you again, Carlyn, for the encouragement. Funny enough, I don't think my younger self was very quick to judge; the social sciences conditioning was strong in this one. ;) Yet that's also why it's hard to put an opinion on the page: I've sort of always seen many sides to any given story, always been rooted in compassion, and never want to sound like I'm condemning anyone as hopelessly toxic (because people who feel condemned are less inclined to see change as an option).

At the same time... some judgments do deserve to be articulated.

And yes, I'm single too. My biggest fear is less about dating prospects, though, and more about prospective clients; most of my work is for ivory tower types, so it's intimidating to have opinions online. But by all means, overshare! That's how you weed a lot of the wrong men out. ;)
