Oh, man. I thought it was bad enough trying to renew mine from Germany last month, where the Embassy sent applicants conflicting information about the required envelope sizes. You've been through a lot. May the next two steps go much more smoothly... whenever you feel morally prepared to re-attempt them. ;)
