Marcus, I think there's a lot of nonsense "info" about twin flames out there on the internet, and I also think some people use the concept in unfortunate ways in their spiritual work. However, I don't think these are a new concept. For example, look to the love between Rumi and Shams, and what that love inspired — centuries upon centuries upon centuries ago. What's more, I think a lot of people who can relate to the twin flame idea also relate to the mystical sentiments in Rumi's love poetry about Shams.

I guess what I'm saying is... nobody can really know for sure, but I like to prefer to believe that profound, divine love connections are neither anything new, nor are they a myth. But I guess we won't find out until we cross back to the Other Side. :)
