Loved this, Meg! My family is Roman Catholic, but I became interested in stuff like reincarnation, crystals, energy healing, astrology, tarot cards and more, very early on. It’s been a very long time since I considered myself Christian at all, but I still pray to Mary, Archangel Michael and some of the other angels, “God” as an omniscient father figure (despite my feminism and my belief that divinity isn’t limited to any given gender), and (less often) Jesus — at the same time as I’ll talk to my spirit guides, deceased people, or even the higher selves of living loved ones. There’s a lot of backlash against cherrypicking when it comes to spirituality, but I don’t believe in dogmatically accepting or dismissing all of basically ANY tradition. Thanks for the balanced, loving perspective you’ve shared here. I’m sure it will help many. :)
