I've experienced this kind of love, and I'm grateful for it. At the same time, I fell in love with someone else *before* such a love, and I can tell you that even the beautiful, caring, stable, respectful love — even after YEARS together — has not been able to extinguish the other sort, nor my attendant sense that "something is missing." In the end, I guess that's the question it comes down to: does it feel like something is missing? And I'm not talking about FOMO. I'm talking about how some people, in your presence, truly do make you feel like nothing is missing at all.
I'm hoping that someday I can have both: the "nothing's missing" kind of connection WITH the caring, stable love. I believe it's real.
If you feel like nothing's missing in your stable love, that's magnificent! And even if you do feel like something's missing... it's still beautiful that the universe has given you this opportunity to be loved in this very healthy way.
