It is totally within the realm of life's possibilities! Your concept of "personal space" makes total sense to me, and I'm sure there are people out there who would appreciate the fact that you have your own life. Don't worry!

As for "romantic friendship," I think I use that term in a different way than others might. I actually mean that we had the boyfriend/girlfriend experience with each other — sexual intimacy, long phone calls, dates, commitment, respect, open communication, monogamy (optional), the occasional vacation together, etc. — without the long-term-future-focused planning of romance. And without being IN love with each other, even though we both knew (and expressed) that we loved each other. It's hard to explain, lol. But I really hope this makes sense and reassures you that, yes, it is real!
