I'm 38, would like to be a mother, and still don't know when or how it can happen; I'm single, don't know when I'll meet the right person, and have lots of living I'd like to do with Mr. Right once I do find him... before I would feel ready to become a mom. At the same time, once I do meet the right guy (IF I do meet the right guy), I gather there's not much time to waste before trying to get pregnant. It's the age where one has to choose — and there is no guarantee of either choice being possible. I'm still hoping I can have it all — and give it all to my child(ren).

Being an older mom does carry the worry of, "How many of their years will I miss out on?" But as you've so beautifully pointed out, the memories of love are eternal, and they will stay with our loved ones after we're gone.

I'm glad you were able to conceive on your first try. That's amazing. Thank you for your beautiful essay, June.
