I understand that, but she wrote a humorous story about a date with a guy who very un-self-consciously said a number of problematic and/or hypocritical things. I don’t really see that as an occasion to go searching for faults in her.

I’ve gotten the impression now that your objective is to convince me that the author has covert personality problems(?). If you’re seeking to criticize her, I’ll refrain from participating. :)
