I love your thoughts! So powerfully and eloquently expressed. There were so many points in this essay where I thought, "Wow, that is EXACTLY the right way to explain it." Thank you for writing this. I agree with you about modesty culture being toxic and harmful in general, and it annoys me when self-proclaimed "feminists" try to assert that women are oppressing themselves by not being more modest. When women can walk down the street totally naked, without a single bad, human-perpetrated thing befalling them, THEN we can say they are not oppressed. But anyone who insists that women must be covered up is part of the (huge and dangerous) problem.
