Hi Jenny! I’m sorry to hear that you can relate to any of what I wrote. :( But I’d be glad to try to answer some of your questions. What questions did you have?
The self-loathing is real and it is difficult. Surgery helped me a lot, but frankly therapy, which I turned to about a year after my surgery, for other reasons, helped me immensely as well. I don’t know if you’re considering surgery, but even if you do pursue it, I 100% recommend counseling also. Surgery and counseling were pretty much the only resources I turned to throughout that healing process, but they worked wonders, so I feel very thankful that I had access to both. I hope the resources that you decide to pursue will be accessible for you too.
By the way, your message inspired me to write a post explaining how I went about finding a surgeon. In case you’d find that useful, I’m attaching a link to that here also. :)
