Hey, it's (sadly) perfectly normal that this concept confuses so many people — you're not alone! Even I, despite being raised female and therefore with a bit more emotional leeway permitted, had to work through a lot of confusion regarding the role of vulnerability in connection for a while. I think that SO many of us, and especially so many men, are taught that emotional softness is bad and that we all need to hide or downplay it. So, if you are a guy (I take it you are?), the system was stacked against you there on that one.

BUT the fact that you are deep-diving into questions like these shows your strength, your depth, and your earnestness. That's the good news. ;)
