Hahaha, that reminds me of the time I heard “utensils”/“cutlery”/“silverware” described as “food weapons.”

I also like comparing actual words across languages to see how they translate:

English: breakfast
Spanish: desayuno (literally: dis-fast — so, same idea… but until I saw this in Spanish, I NEVER realized that the English word “breakfast” was LITERALLY about breaking the nighttime fast.)

Then there’s German: Frühstück (which very colorfully translates to: “early piece”)

Languages are pretty rad. ;)
