Even if your connection with this man wasn't meant to last, I'm really happy that you had such a beautiful experience. I like to believe people still meet in the wild too. When I travel, I do experience more of it. But unfortunately, in Berlin, it's primarily pickup artists (those guys in training under con artists) who approach me, so... ;P
