Danita, thanks for sounding the bell at this. I'm 38, wanted to freeze eggs at 35 but was blocked by the pandemic, finally got to see a clinic last year and was shocked and sad at all the info I was never given in school, university sex ed, the media, etc. (For the record/context, I'm white and from the US.) I froze a few eggs, but the treatment didn't seem to be working well for me, and they only retrieved 3 mature ones. I really hope to freeze again, but as you point out, it's so expensive.

Fwiw, it's MUCH cheaper to freeze eggs in Europe (and likely other places abroad) than in the USA. For instance, here in Germany, I paid $4k for a single round of freezing + first year of storage. I understand that in the US, it would've been 2.5–5x as much. If you have the money to pursue further treatments for a natural pregnancy, maybe Europe would be an option. I did it in Germany for convenience (it's where I currently live), but I hear especially excellent things about Spain — similarly cheap, but more progressive in terms of laws pertaining to reproductive health and family formation.

I wish you a healthy, happy pregnancy and, of course, a very healthy, happy baby.
