I write about connection — connection with self, others, and the cosmos at large. My day job is analytical (I edit for the research world), but I'm an unabashed mystic — just as excited to talk social science as I am to riff on soulmates and synchronicity. My years of study and research in one of the world’s top-ranked social sciences departments made me sure of one thing: relationships and emotion are matters of public health.

What else have I been, apart from a professional nerd? An advice blogger, a mental healthcare volunteer, a childcare worker, a language and writing teacher, a sex educator, and a Hooters Girl. Along the way, I escaped my US mining town to live an international life: Ecuador, China, now Germany.
