A fun factoid I'd like to add about hunting vs. gathering: when I was an anthropology student, we learned that while men are more likely to hunt (for practical reasons), and women are historically more likely to gather or farm.... women's efforts contribute WAY more of the calories/sustenance to the tribe.

So, based on this, all those backwards men who argue that it's evolutionarily "natural" for the man to "provide" — well, they have their bro-science all kinds of wrong. ;)
